5 Day Commercial Single Engine Course



Prerequisites (per 14 CFR 61.129(a))

  • 236 Flight Hours or 186 Flight Hours and 50 Hours in a simulator or FTD
  • 86 Hours powered aircraft, 36 in airplanes
  • 86 Hours PIC, including at least
    • 36 Hours in airplanes
    • 46 Hours cross-country with at least 6 in airplanes
  • 10 Hours instrument training, at least 5 in a single-engine airplane (not including PPL training)
  • 10 Hours solo flight in a single-engine airplane, including at least
    • 300nm cross-country with landings at 3 points, at least one point greater than 250nm from point of original departure
    • 5 Hours in night VFR conditions with 10 takeoffs and landings (each landing involving a flight in the traffic pattern) at an airport with an operating control tower
  • Knowledge test passed
